In 2021, The Lautreamonts were invited to participate in a compilation album with cover versions of 50s and 60s songs. The project would be a tribute to a friend's father and released on vinyl.

The song chosen by the band was "Hello Mary Lou" written by Gene Pitney and popularized by Ricky Nelson in the 60's.

Always avoiding the obvious, the band opted to deconstruct Nelson's rockabilly style transforming it into a bossa nova-esque ballad. A "Lautremontian" provocation for the song's fans and to the band's followers, accustomed to the post punk style of their music.

The recording was made in an intimate style and has the participation of Fernando Oliveira (Rats) in the guitar and trumpets.
