about
“The Adequacy Waltz” is the opening track of the Brazilian Post-punk duo
THE LAUTREAMONTS debut EP “Who Are You Wearing?”
The first bars already shows an escape from the conventional. In a clear influence of Middle-eastern music, it’s the sitar that plays the main riff. It is accompanied by the percussion, another fundamental element on the songs.
The production was done in our own music studio. This allowed us to explore the almost infinite range of possibilities that technology can provide. Without the limitations of traditional band, we have spared no effort or time on experimentation and research for new sounds.
Our “Adequacy Waltz” talks about the desperate search for social acceptance.
It’s an ironic vision of how we try to fit into an idealized life model, following the synchronized steps of a very weird dance.
For fans of: Siouxsie and the Banshees, Elysian Fields, Dead Can Dance, the exotic and sarcasm.
lyrics
Cool, smart and rich ones
Sounds just like fun
And to be happy it's just one click away
I am therefore I share
Who's going to care
And to be happy it's just one click away
Just one click away
Look at me
I´m not like you just wanna be
Part of me, apart from you
Just going through
Where have you gone?
Or are we all alone?
Let's face it
Let's fake it
Dance with me
C'mon dance with me
The adequacy
Dance with me
(it´s no my fault)
Let's do the adequacy waltz
Let's do the adequacy
Let's do the adequacy
Let's do the adequacy waltz
Let's do the adequacy waltz

It's uncanny just how good Actors is at emulating that Post-Punk synth sound from my younger days.
Each listen just gets better and better. I feel slightly ashamed for not having heard this album until a few short days ago. modestwriggles

Gloomy post-punk with a strong artistic identity. Excellent command of a somewhat minimalist musical approach based on a foundation of stomping drums, full-tone picked J-bass, and shimmering guitar lines. Scott's distinctive and expressive vocals are a highlight. M
Perfectly gloomy Norwegian goth/post-punk, anchored by a punchy rhythm section and driven by chiming guitar lines and morose vocals. Bandcamp New & Notable Feb 16, 2021
